In the collage series «In Memory Construct: I Record, Therefore I Am», Timofey Kolesnikov redefines existence as an act of perception and recording. Continuing his exploration of human identity, the artist turns to collage as both medium and metaphor — a way to visualize how memory constructs the self from fragments of experience.
Each work begins with Timofey’s own photographs — moments of lived reality that are transformed through digital manipulation, layering, silkscreen, and paint. The resulting collages merge the digital and the physical, the remembered and the imagined, forming a visual architecture of consciousness.
For Timofey, to record is to exist. Every perception, every trace of emotion becomes material for reconstruction — memory as a generative force that continuously reshapes reality.
Memory Construct stands as a philosophical and visual statement: a meditation on the human being as a living collage, assembled from everything seen, felt, and remembered.

TEXTILE
«Untitled» works mark a pivotal transformation in Timofey Kolesnikov’s artistic practice — a transition from photography, the medium that defined his vision for over fifteen years, to a new, tactile form of abstraction through textile. Created in 2020 during the global lockdown and first exhibited at the Red Dot Art Fair during Miami Art Week in 2021, the series reflects a profound moment of inner change and artistic renewal.
After photographing tens of thousands of people across the world, Timofey turned the lens inward. This process of self-examination — from the mountains of Tibet to the deserts of Saudi Arabia — led him to discover that the essence of human nature cannot be captured by representation alone, but revealed through abstraction.
In these textile works, color, texture, and rhythm replace the literal image. The process becomes meditative — a visual prayer in which past, present, and future converge. Abstraction offers clarity, allowing the artist to dissolve the boundaries of self and approach the pure essence of being.
«Untitled» stands as both a spiritual and material metamorphosis — a movement from image to sensation, from depiction to presence.
