The Faces
«The Faces» is one of Timofey Kolesnikov’s most enduring explorations — a study of human identity through portraiture. Since 2005 and continuing to this day, the artist has been creating a body of work where the face is seen not merely as an anatomical feature, but as a bearer of meaning — a reflection of personality and its social context.
Timofey merges staged and documentary approaches, working at the intersection of fashion and reality, between the carefully constructed and the intuitively captured. His lens turns toward people from all walks of life — from global cultural icons to children without families, from public figures to anonymous passersby.

What began as an attempt to understand others gradually evolved into a meditation on mirroring: through the faces of others, the artist encounters his own. «The Faces» stands as a visual chronicle of human existence — a growing archive of individuality where each portrait becomes both a trace of time and a mark of presence.
